We warmly invite you to join the Turku Åbo Summer School!

Who can apply for summer studies?
In most cases you are eligible to apply for summer studies if you are 18 years old and have fluent English language skills.
You do not have to be presently enrolled in a university to apply.
Some courses have additional requirements which are described on the course page.

Start by choosing the course
Submit your application via online form.
Attach a motivation letter describing why you wish to come to Turku Åbo Summer School.
Confirming email
Wait for an email confirming your acceptance.
You will hear from us latest by TBA.
The summer school fee
The fees are payable with a credit card after you have been accepted.
You will have two weeks to pay the course fee.
Letter of Acceptance
Once you have paid the course fee, we will send you the official Letter of Acceptance.
Apply for Visa (if you need one)
Housing in Turku
Finding a place to stay in Turku requires active effort from you.
Unfortunately we cannot arrange housing for summer school students; you have to apply for it yourself.
However, we have selected options with
special prices for you.
Summer School Fees
Turku Åbo Summer School fees are course-specific (45€–75€).
Please see the course descriptions for detailed prices.
The fee for Social Programme is 100€.
Arriving to Turku
Turku is located between land and sea,
on the coast of the Baltic Sea,
so you can arrive by plane, train, bus or ferry.
Cancellation Policy
Sometimes we have to cancel a course. This can happen a if the minimum amount of participants is not reached or as in 2020 something really unexpected happens.
So, please read carefully our Cancellation Policy!
Privacy Notion
We are committed to respecting your privacy and to helping protect the security of your information.
Diploma
After the summer course we will e-mail you the official transcript, the course diploma, and the course description. You’ll also receive a printed and signed diploma during the course.
Credits
Turku Åbo Summer School uses ECTS credits for measuring the workload of the studies. ECTS credits are used widely at the European higher education institutions.
After the summer course you can transfer credits to your home university using the ECTS system.
Visa (Non-EU students)
Check if you need a visa to enter Finland. If you need a visa, contact the nearest Finnish embassy/consulate about the application procedures.
Health Insurance
Each participant is required to have a health insurance. For the students from EU countries, European Health Security Card is sufficient. The students from outside EU need to acquire private health insurance.
